Getty Images Brian Sabean slamming is a rather typical hobby among stathead types. I've spent a dreadful great deal of time doing it, I'll confess. For what it's worth, my slamming him has less to do with any individual steps he's made and even more to do with some inadequate behavior on his part, however it's indisputable that, for whatever reason, Sabean catches a great deal of flack from the alleged clever set. But that flack fades compared to two World Series champions in 3 years. No, you cannot absolve Sabean of bad steps and give him all the credit for those titles-- like the majority of GMs he's had good moments and bad-- however it appears rather damn minor to take potshots at the task he's done, especially recently, in light of the indisputable success of the Giants.
